It’s like anime fever has set over Aptoide’s HQ! After highlighting the super cool Beyblade Burst game, this week we are visiting a Japanese franchise once again. Say hello to our brand new Game of The Week, Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag.
Have you ever dreamt about being trapped in an MMORPG video game? Who hasn’t, right? Well, that’s the basic premise of Sword Art Online series. The Android video game, though, rolls out a bit differently. While remaining faithful to the original story, it’s actually an action JRPG with touches of hack-and-slash and side scrolling titles. This mixture is topped up with a key ingredient: character collecting.
If you’re already familiar with the series, you’ll be glad to know you’ll join Kirito, Asuna and Leafa for an action-packed adventure. The genre mix reminds us of old school games, like Streets of Rage. For those concerned about the actuality of such mechanics, rest assured: SAO:MD delivers a really exciting gaming experience!
Be ready to tap a lot, but make sure you do it with extra precision. After all, you need to move further while also killing (and dodging from) all the enemies that block your way. We won't lie: it can be quite tricky. On top of that, much like any other mobile game nowadays, you need to gather in-game currency to improve things such as your equipment. However, Memory Stones are quite abundant, even if you decide to keep away from in-app purchases. With plenty of side quests, weapons and characters to collect, and even a co-op mode, the game has loads to offer and the potential to keep you entertained for long hours.
Even with somewhat tough-to-master controls, Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag is one of those video games you shouldn’t miss. Definitely a mandatory play for every fan of anime, RPGs or just good games in general.
