I've always had a fascination with the occult. The belief that some knowledge is hidden in plain sight is a meme as old as mankind - but for many its serious business. In western superstition, Friday the 13th is considered to be an unlucky day. A day where the darkest most creepiest stuff can happen to you (and that's why some don't even leave their homes on this day).
As someone who's prone to fear on a daily basis, these 13 apps [available on Aptoide](http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/cat/custom%3A8910/page/latest/1?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=halloween-apps&utm_campaign=post" target="_blank) still managed to send chills down my spine. If you too are looking to get into the world of horror or simply to scare the living crap out your friends, or yourself, just make sure you take a few deep breaths, and check out these creepy apps on Aptoide, including horror games, VR experiences and occultism apps.
When you're a kid you tend to imagine how it would be being locked in your school during the night. With this game you don't have to imagine it, you can actually experience it! This is a really low fi, dark and, quite frankly strange "first person survival horror quest". Check out the trailer below:
And just so you know, it's available on Aptoide.
Imagine this scenario: You find yourself in is not the most pleasant place in a haunted mental hospital from which you have to find a way out. I guess that's the usual stuff that usually happens on Fridays the 13th, right?
Continuing our tour of haunted places, now it's time for a more traditional haunted house. Eyes - The Haunt is definetely one of the best horror games for Android, and it's a deep and atmospheric horrifying experience that will get you through this Friday.
No Friday the 13th apps list would be complete without a Witchcraft app. This one is considered one of the best and most complete Witchraft companion apps - including information about the current moon, spells and curse removal. This is all you need to get started in using the occult forces in your favor - if you're brave enough to dabble into it.
Ghost Radar will work wonders to freak you out. It also includes a voice to let you know when anything suspicious has been detected. Ghost Radar is like the Ouija-board of the 21st century, and it's sure to make you jump out of your seat.
This app lets you add ghostly apparitions to your photos. Just take a photo, select a ghost and boo! - this will definitely make your friends look twice. Warning: if like me you jump at the tiniest scare, make sure you use this prank with caution.
When all else fails, there's nothing scarier than unexpected noise. With over 100 scary ringtones to choose from, this app is sure to make your friends jump when they least expect it.
Ah! We've just tried this one here at the office and it is sure to frighten even the toughest guy. Just choose a horrifying picture and a terrifying sound, and set the time after which you want to scare your friend. And then wait for it.
This one is downright horrifying. You can transform yourself into a realistic zombie from The Walking Dead. Simply take or import a photo of yourself and edit it using the incredibly realistic zombie eyes, mouths, and then watch your creation come to life. Spread the infection with your friends - dead your girlfriend, dead your boyfriend, dead your friends...dead whoever!
Curse Breakers is a classic horror thriller point and click adventure game. Here's the plot: you are a - you guessed it - curse breaker and you must explore a haunted mansion to uncover its secrets and face the paranormal. It’s not as in-your-face scary as others but it’s a great casual game with horror elements.
This is when it starts getting really scary... if you want to jump off ship, we totally get it, but if you're courageous enough, confront the terror like never before. Elise Rainier (actress Lin Shaye) acts as your guide to the horrors of the afterlife, as you navigate the apps darkest reaches in this chilling VR experience. For best experience, make sure you have your headphones on.
Something is wrong around you. You do not even know why and where you are but you know you have to keep going, start investigating the back story because maybe then you can get out and leave alive. If you own a VR set or a Cardboard you can experience this game, which is one of the best horror experiences for VR. See the trailer below:
And don't forget to grab the game from Aptoide.
We've saved the most downright frightful app for last, just to make sure your heart can take it. As the first of its kind, 11:57 sets out to offer a 360-degree nightmare by making you the main character of the film. This means that rather than just watching the film, you become part of the actual set making the action revolve around you. Then again, we highly recommended to use headphones to enjoy the binaural audio.
So go ahead, turn off the lights and turn up the volume because things are about to get real spooky.
Have you tried any Android apps that really freak you out?
Share your stories below, we'd love to get spooked too!
