Must Have Apps for Trivia Gatherings
What does the word Trivia mean?
Trivia [triv-ee-uh] plural noun
Word of Latin origin that was used to refer to the basic education in Ancient times one had to go through before higher education (which was called "the quadrivia" - makes sense right?).
I bet you didn't know that!
Nowadays the word is used to refer to small bits of (mostly) useless information about the world. Trivia games are also a big thing since the Trivia Pursuit board game came out in '82 (another piece of useless trivia for you), and I guess we all know the amazing power these games have to gather people together to see who knows more about random stuff! Since today is the National Trivia Day, we've decided to bring you a list of the best trivia games for Android.
Do you fancy yourself a know-it-all? Do you groan in frustration every time a game show contestant on TV misses a blindingly obvious answer? Whether you're a pop culture wunderkind, a history buff, sports stats junkie or movie maven, there's going to be something for you on our list.
Let's see what we have:
1. [Trivia Crack](http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/app/market/com.etermax.preguntados.lite/143/22726091/Perguntados?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
This is clearly the king of all trivia games for Android. This is a game that keeps you hooked, seriously! It basically allows you to challenge your friends for a trivia match. The game itself is centered around winning a number of "crowns", which basically entails answering correctly a number of questions within a certain subject.
2. [QuizUp](http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/app/market/com.quizup.core/1481303000/22305390/QuizUp?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
QuizUp is Trivia Crack's main competitor, and it's usually considered to be it's older, nerdier and way more serious brother. If you consider Trivia Crack too easy, than this is th eone for you!
3. [Quizoid](http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/app/market/de.habanero.quizoid/70/22586404/Quizoid%3A+Trivia+Quiz+2017?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
This is like a single player version of the two games above. It's basically like "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", but without the millionaire bit. It's like they say: it won't make you rich, but it will make you smarter!
4. [Logo Game](http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/app/market/com.msi.logogame/67/22263395/Logo+Game%3A+Identifique+Marcas?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
This is for all you marketing experts out there. You have to guess the name of the brand by just looking at the logo. I know, it sounds way too easy. But it turns out, our ability to memorize brand names is actually rather limited - you'll be surprised how many times you'll be looking at a logo you're you know, but you can't remember the brand name.
5. [What If](http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/app/market/com.app.whatif/2/7052596/What+if+%3F?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
While not a trivia app per se, this is an app that revolves entirely around questions - but not so much about answers. Confused? Don't be: What if provides you with thought provoking and interesting questions that can spark conversation with people around you. Some of these questions can be quite dark such as "If you had to murder someone, how would you do it?". Great way lof breaking the ice right? (gulp)
6. [This or That](http://m.exportfdt-de.store.aptoide.com/app/market/se.ace.thisorthat/10/20344992/This+or+That?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
This or That, a spin-off of "What if.." above. This is a similar question game where you either answer "This" or "That" to casual, personal, challenging and crazy questions and immediately see how other players answered! I know it sounds crazy, but it's surprisingly fun!
7. [Family Feud 2](http://m.apkx.store.aptoide.com/app/market/com.beachfrontmedia.familyfeud/1104133/9054145/Family+Feud?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
Family Feud is a popular American TV show that began airing in 1976, and is recognized as one of the most iconic game shows in broadcast history. This is the most recent Android version of it, and features the same gameplay style of the original TV show, giving you the possibility to challenge your friends online!
8. [Guess The Movie](http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/app/market/air.ru.flytofiji.flipwords/1003000/19435578/Guess+The+Movie.+Flipwords?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
The goal of the game is to guess the movie titles from the “flipped” phrase. Every word in phrase is opposite of original word. For instance: Black Swan becomes “White Goose”, Bad Boys becomes “Good Girls”, and so forth. You'll see how hard it is once you start playing: you not only need to know the names of the films but you have to be clever enough to guess it from the "flipped" phrase. Try it!
9. [Pictoworld](http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/app/market/com.kooapps.pictowordandroid/82/22433203/Pictoword%3A+Word+Guessing+Games?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
This is basically like an Android version of Pictionary but without the drawing part. You're presented with a number of images that combined form a word, and you have to guess the meaning of it.
10. [Draw Something](http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/app/market/com.omgpop.dstfree/2333360/22611402/Draw+Something+Free?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_content=trivia-apps&utm_campaign=post)
Like the one above, this is the closest you'll get to an Android version of Pictionary. You can send drawings to your friends so that they can take a guess at what it is!
Let's us know in the comments if we've missed any major Trivia game that you're addicted to. That said, it's time to gather your friends to see who holds the greatest ammount of knowledge about stuff that don't really matter!
